Formation is just another way to increase your overall BP. It can be accessed via the Skill icon > Formation.
Note: As this is new content, the information below may be incomplete, and the page will continue to be updated as and when new information is available.
Formations
As the name suggests, you will have to choose a formation first. Like soccer formations 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1, it’s similar. From the dropdown on the right, you can see there are a few categories, like Alignment type, Adjacent cross type, Interval type and Adjacent type (for Blue Formation)
No need to care so much about the names, just open the dropdown and click on each pattern to see the formation. The yellow dots indicate the units in that position will receive the formation buffs. Once you select the formation you want, click on ‘Settings’ to select it. As you level up main Formation level, you will unlock more formation patterns to choose from.
As of now this gameplay is new and just launched, so I have no idea on what’s the best formation or meta. But no matter what, remember to slot in some buffs and pick a formation first.
So there are 2 types of Formation – Blue and Purple. Blue is the basic one with each formation only buffing 2 units. The Purple Formation buffs 3 units but you need to level up the Catalog in order to unlock these purple patterns.
Also, you need both Formations (1 and 2) to reach Level 3, before Purple Formation patterns can be used.

You can confirm the formation by checking the line-up, it should show the blue arrows at the formation positions based on what you have selected.

There are 2 formations on the top left, Formation 1 and Formation 2. Formation 2 unlocks at Catalog lv10. They are upgraded independently. They can also be stacked, and even able to use the same formation pattern type.
To tier up a Formation, you’ll need some gold and Formation Main Cores, which can be pulled via the tokens, bought from exchange store, or as a reward from clearing Nightmare exploration.

Enhancers
Enhancers are the cards you slot to get buffs. At the start you can only equip 2, with a 3rd slot available for unlock at Formation Tier 3.

You can obtain them by
- Pulling via Formation Supply Tokens. I would think there would be Rate UPs for this pull, so I advise not to pull with these yet.

2. Buying from the Exchange store (in the same page as above – Formation Supplies), using the currency Formation Coin.

You can farm this coin by clearing the new ‘Nightmare’ stages in Exploration. To start, you have to go all the way back to the very first stage to clear the Nightmare mode and progress all the way up. You can also sweep clear once finished, which means you’ll need a lot more stamina to farm these coins daily.
There are also chest rewards once you complete the stage partially/completely, providing you with more coins and cores.

As with all ‘gear’, there are different rarities of Enhancers.
There are Purple, Orange and Red Enhancers, with each type giving a different kind of buff.

You can upgrade the Enhancers via Energy Charge.

As you level up the Catalog, there also rewards for you to claim. To level up the Catalog, you’ll need to open / upgrade the Enhancers.
