TLDR:
Purple stick: CANNOT get Lv200, base max of Lv160 (slightly higher if you complete first day weekly cap).
You will need to buy 20-40+ levels with funds to get to Lv200 – if you have double funds recharge then this will be slightly cheaper than the orange stick.
Orange stick: Able to hit Lv200 quite easily as long as you finish most of the quests every week.
Things to Note:
- I’m comparing the latest HBU model (which started from #5 – Boros) with the old one (where you can ‘reroll’ quests to blue/purple), so some of the info below are meant to address the changes.
- You now cannot hit Lv200 with basic backup stick due to the XP caps
- Weekly cap for Weekly quests is 650, Weekly cap for Daily quests is 1350. Total weekly XP cap is 2000 (20 levels). So basically in 8 weeks, you can get 8×20 = 160 levels at the base
- First day (usually Sun) you can spam quests to clear for that weekly cap
- You cannot reset the weekly quests to a different quality. Green will always be green now.
- If you buy the stick, you get extra quests – 1 green, 1 blue and 1 purple.
- The uncompleted quest points will be carried over to the following week, so you can continue grinding then if you couldn’t play much this week (You will see your weekly limit increase).
- You can save the wristbands as they will carry over the next season, and you can exchange them for other LSSR shards or even KS!
- You can only get Lv200 by hitting most of the daily/weekly quests limits (see calculation below) + you need to either buy the Expensive backup stick OR buy the rest of the levels with funds
- If you decide to buy the stick nearing the end, you will still be able to get all the rewards retroactively. Just note that you might not hit lv200 (since the paid stick gives you extra weekly quests which you would have missed out on) so you might need to top up a few extra levels.
- You don’t have to hit lv200 (although I strongly recommend you do if you’re buying since all the good rewards are there). You can hit maybe Lv160-180, and then get the rest of the LSSR shards via exchanging bracelets to hit 80 shards to fuse.
REWARDS
The rewards are similar to last season. An average SPD33 rune for LC, and a Martial Artist badge. And randomly Choze’s KS is also thrown in.

- Suiryu badge
- SPD 33 LC Rune (lv199)
- Martial Artist badge (lv150)
- Choze KS (lv10)
- SSR wristbands, which is a currency for you to exchange LSSR shards and awaken materials
WORTH IT?
If you don’t mind spending on the game, HBU is always the best bang for your money in terms of all the rewards that you will get.
TLDR: If you’re a low spender and you don’t mind to continue spending on the game, sure why not. It’s ‘cheap’ for an LSSR if you want to put it this way. But cheap for a game? Not really, you could buy most PC games for $39USD for example.
SUIRYU’S KIT
Role: Backline DPS / Charge damage / Charge damage Booster for allies / Rebellion / Tenacity / Weaken attackers (w KS only)
Type: Grappler / Martial Artist (Martial Artist)
Meta Duration: Not really in the meta as there are better units. However, a well-geared whale Suiryu can literally one-shot the enemy’s backline, especially since Charge dmg pierces Bomb’s shields.
ABILITIES
Basic: Single target 2 hit 140% atk dmg and gain tenacity (absorb dmg of 25% of max hp)
Ultimate: 5 hit 120% atk to enemy backrow, every layer of [charge up] suiryu has, deal extra 160% atk as charge-up dmg
Passive: When Suiryu gain [tenacity], gain 1 layer of [charge-up], up to 2 times. permanently increase 25% atk of allies in [charge-up]. Suiryu himself permanently gain 40% [non crit dmg free] (reduce all types of dmg, only one effect [dexterity] or [non crit dmg free] will be activated)
Ultra-Ultimate:
5hit atk 120% > 150%
Charge-up extra dmg 160% > 240%
Additional charge-up effect – and when crit on target, weaken their atk by 30%
Extreme-Passive:
Increase allies charge-up atk 25% > 35%
Rebellion (non-crit dmg dmg) 40% > 45%
GEAR
Suggested gear:
You’ll want to focus on ATK as much as possible to increase his Charge damage. Charge is not affected by crit, bonus dmg, etc so no need for those (the actual ult dmg still can crit just not the charge dmg). However if you plan on getting his KS, then you’ll want CRIT% for the additional weaken enemies’ atk effect.
Recommended set is Gunner/Primal
Broken set is fine if you don’t have the required pieces.
Buff Gear:
Hero ATK – ATK% x3
Grappler ATK – ATK/CRIT%
Special Class ATK – ATK
Pros:
- Strong backline DPS
- Synergizes very well with other charge dmg units, such as DK, G4, Sonicv2 etc, providing a permanent atk buff
- Strong against Bomb’s shields
- Synergizes well with Bomb core and other tenacity units (Sonic, Amai etc) to trigger his charge-up damage
- We got the post-buff Suiryu so his damage is quite insane, especially with KS
- Ultra Ult weakens attackers on crit, which is hugeeeee
- In the backup stick, so a ‘cheap’ LSSR for all to get
Cons:
- Too much competition for Extreme Training (Bomb, ATT, Sonic, DK, and better future units), you will have trouble levelling him
- If you use him alongside DK to boost DK, you’ll still need ATT in the team to trigger DK’s form. Along with Bomb, that’s 4 slots already locked, so tends to restrict your lineup quite a bit. Grappler slots are also very competitive, with WDM, Amai, and Gale Wind in the near future
- Not really in the ‘meta’ if you don’t intend to train him up well. Will be quickly replaced by better future units, especially since SSR+ units are around the corner
